Meet Emily and Jetson!!
In December Emily's husband passed away after a very long battle. Due to her husband's illness and her being the caregiver, the minor house repairs turned into major problems. Emily was first introduced to us because she had a roof that needed major repair, through a partnership with Chestnut homebuilders and real estate, we were able to stop the leaks and get Emily a brand new roof. However, due to the leaks Emily's ceiling was completely destroyed and made a comfortable home for the mice. That's just not acceptable. We replaced Emily's ceiling, got all of the walls painted and this week will be fixing her basement stairs and porch, so that Emily can safely stay in her home. Without Habitat's help, Emily would not have been able to afford to have her home repaired and would have been living in an unsafe and unhealthy home.
