Support for those in need in Livingston County!

A safe home should never be out of reach. Yet every week, families in Livingston County come to Habitat because their homes are no longer safe to live in. Floors have collapsed. Heat has failed. Roofs leak. Water no longer runs. Seniors and individuals with disabilities, and those in financial need, are trapped behind mobility barriers.

These are our neighbors who need our help. Thank you for being part of the solution. Because of your support, last fiscal year, we served 84 neighbors and completed more than 129 urgent repairs. We are now on track to complete 29 additional projects this fiscal year, supporting an additional 17 families.

Restoring heat, rebuilding roofs, repairing unsafe flooring, replacing failing water systems, installing ramps to regain independence, and transforming bathrooms for safe access. Each repair protected a family from displacement and preserved the homes’ stability. The need continues to grow.

We receive about 20 applications each month from veterans, seniors, and families who can’t move forward without help. Many are living in conditions that threaten their health and safety. Rising material costs make these repairs harder to afford. Since 2020, building supply costs have increased 41%, rose another 10% in 2022, and incrementally increased by 4.5% in 2025.
